Keratin Treatments

Brazilian Blowout are hair smoothing treatments that are used to straighten and smooth hair without causing any damage to the follicle.  By pressing in the keratin with heat, the results are unbelievable.

Brazilian blowout & keratin treatments bond proteins to the outer layer of the hair which help smooth, protect, soften and relax the hair. The bonding process takes place during the flat iron is application.

Both Brazilian blowout & keratin treatments remove frizz, add shine, seal in color, and decrease blow dry time. The Brazilian blowout is the popular option, but not the best! Before we get into the reasons why, let’s discuss these treatments in detail.

Brazilian Blowout —

The product used for this treatment gets its protein from a blend of amino acids. Before the product is applied the hair is shampooed and carefully dried until only a small amount of moisture remains. Once we apply the product the hair is blow dried and flat-ironed. When the hair is completely dry we shampoo the hair and completely rinse out the product. Next a conditioner is applied, rinsed out, and dried one last time.

Keratin Treatment —

Similar to the Brazilian blowout keratin treatments start with shampooing the hair and drying it completely. Next the product is applied and covered with a cap for roughly 20 to 30 minutes. The hair is then blow dried and flat-ironed. Clients leave the salon with the product partially or completely in their hair and are asked to wash it out after three days.

The process only takes about 90 minutes whereas some keratin treatments take between two and three hours.

You can do whatever you want with your hair and the look will last about three months.

Keratin Treatments don’t harm your hair in any way. We love seeing the look on a client’s face when the treatment is finished.

The product I support is the Uberliss.  It’s a glyoxilic acid which doesn’t produce the toxic formaldehyde gas.
